[lang_es]Ya voy para tres meses con el cabello morado. Decid\u00ed hacer un cambio para cerrar el a\u00f1o. Un a\u00f1o bastante movido que remat\u00f3 con mi primera exposicion individual en los Estados Unidos y adem\u00e1s la publicaci\u00f3n de mi primer libro<\/a>, concebido y creado con mucho trabajo y sin divismos por Rafael Villegas<\/a> y su servilleta. Todo esto se junt\u00f3 con la posibilidad de radicar en la ciudad de Los \u00c1ngeles, ciudad donde ahora me encuentro y donde cre\u00ed que me quedar\u00eda por una buena cantidad de a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Las cosas se han movido. He pasado momentos de euforia, felicidad y orgullo por los frutos de a\u00f1os de trabajo. Y tambi\u00e9n por una tremenda presi\u00f3n que nace del sentimiento de no querer defraudar a quienes han puesto en m\u00ed su fe junto con sus recursos, esto mientras trato de mantenerme fiel a m\u00ed misma al tiempo que me debato con la t\u00edpica crisis creativa que sigue a toda expo individual. Ahorita nada de lo que estoy haciendo me gusta. La a\u00f1oranza, la melancol\u00eda por todo aquello que me conten\u00eda ha despertado desconocidas vetas de mi mundo interno.<\/p>\n

Con mi t\u00edpica testarudez he deso\u00eddo voces que me aconsejaban no venir aqu\u00ed, convencida que aqu\u00ed esta mi lugar.<\/p>\n

Regres\u00e9 a Guadalajara a desmantelar mi casa, volv\u00ed tambi\u00e9n para la FIL.<\/p>\n

Ahora estoy en Los \u00c1ngeles. Todo esto lo he vivido con el cabello morado.<\/p>\n

Para tener el pelo de este color pas\u00e9 primero por la decoloraci\u00f3n de rigor: el tinte no entra en un cabello oscuro: tiene que ser un lienzo en blanco -o en amarillo- como fue este el caso. La decoloraci\u00f3n pica, se siente como si cientos de hormiguitas corrieran por tu cuero cabelludo. Cuando eres g\u00fcera viene la aplicaci\u00f3n del tinte morado seguido por largos minutos de espera que culminan en el lavado del pelo: el exceso de tinte sale y luego sales tan campante a la calle con el cabello de un morado profund\u00edsimo. Con las orejas y la nuca moradas eso s\u00ed, pero flamante.<\/p>\n

Lo que nadie me explic\u00f3, -fue la primera vez que me pint\u00e9 el pelo- era que en cada ocasi\u00f3n que me ba\u00f1ara mi pelo iba a chorrear pintura; me aterr\u00e9 al principio, pensando que emerger\u00eda de la regadera con el pelo amarillo, sorprendida ante la tremenda cantidad de pigmento que corr\u00eda por mis piernas. De como quedaron las toallas, s\u00e1banas y almohadas ni hablar. A la segunda retocada, acontecida unas dos semanas y medio m\u00e1s tarde y ante la inminencia de la presentaci\u00f3n de Juan Peregrino en Bellas Artes, la experta me regal\u00f3 una especie de tratamiento de chocolate: con esa pastita podr\u00eda librar los d\u00edas sin tener que usar el temido champ\u00fa, destructor de los tintes de colores de fantas\u00eda. La us\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Luego vine a Los \u00c1ngeles a arreglar detalles de la expo. El horror fue como dej\u00e9 cada noche las toallas inmaculadas de nuestro cuarto de hotel, pues aunque usaba gorra para ba\u00f1o, un poqu\u00edsimo de agua era lo que bastaba para que el tinte se me escurriera por la nuca y el salpicadero morado comenzara de nuevo. Al final de la breve visita esperaba que me cobraran un dineral por lo que arruin\u00e9, pero tuve tremenda suerte, no cobraron nada extra.<\/p>\n

Eso s\u00ed, el nuevo look fue un \u00e9xito. Lo amaron mis coleccionistas, las autoridades del Consulado, los angelinos, las ni\u00f1itas y las agentes aduanales.<\/p>\n

Lo he retocado otras dos veces ac\u00e1 en Los \u00c1ngeles, donde adem\u00e1s usan una especie de casco que expide calor. Creo que eso ha ayudado a que dure m\u00e1s el color y se chorri\u00e9 menos. Un tinte de estos te dura a lo mucho unas tres semanas antes de que el pelo comience a verse de un feo amarillo mezclado con el color natural de las ra\u00edces.<\/p>\n

Creo que si me hubieran explicado todo lo que implica tener un color de fantas\u00eda en el cabello no lo hubiera hecho. Ahora s\u00e9 que no lo volver\u00eda a hacer. Por lo menos no en toda la cabeza.<\/p>\n

Vivir todos estos cambios tan fuertes con una mata de cabello p\u00farpura\u00a0 en la cabeza ha sido muy simb\u00f3lico. Ahora que las cosas est\u00e1n calm\u00e1ndose, he dejado al morado desvanecerse poco a poco, estoy segura que mi vuelta al mejor estado de creatividad vibrante coincidir\u00e1 con el regreso del cabello casta\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Y la vuelta a M\u00e9xico.[\/lang_es][lang_en]<\/p>\n

It\u00b4s been three months since I\u00b4ve had purple hair. I decided to change for the closing of the year. A very exciting year that finished with my first solo show in the United States and the publishing of my first book <\/a>in coauthorship with Rafael Villegas<\/a>, a piece of art made with hard work and no overblown egos from either of us. All of this collided with the possibility of living in Los Angeles, city where I am currently and where I tought I\u00b4d be living\u00a0 for some years.<\/p>\n

Things have been moving. I have been through moments of euphoria, happiness and pride for the rewards of years of hard work. And also through the tremendous pressure stemming from my feeling of not wanting to dissapoint the ones who have placed their faith and resources in me, all this combined with my desire to stay true to myself and the creative crisis that follows a solo show.\u00a0 I don\u00b4t like anything of what I am drawing now. The longing, the melancholy for all that has contained me in the past has opened new chambers of my inner world.<\/p>\n

As is usual in me, I didn\u00b4t listen to voices advising me against coming here for I was convinced that my place was here.<\/p>\n

I returned to Guadalajara to dismantle my house. I also went back for the International Book Fair.<\/p>\n

All of this I have lived it with purple hair.<\/p>\n

In order to have this color on your hair you have to bleach it first, for the dye won\u00b4t stick on dark hair. It has to be a white canvas, -yellow in this case. The bleaching process itches, it feels like hundreds of\u00a0 little ants are running amok on your scalp. Once you are blond then the purple dye is applied followed by long minutes of wait that end with a hair wash that rids you of the excess of dye. Then you finally step out of the salon feeling fabulous about your deep purple hair. With purple ears and nape also, but still fabulous.<\/p>\n

What nobody explained to me -it was the first time in my life I had dyed my hair- was that each time I\u00b4d wash my hair dye was going to come off. I was terrified at first, thinking that I\u00b4d step out of the shower with blonde hair again, bewildered at the sight of the purple rivers streaming down my legs. And I haven\u00b4t spoken about how my towels, sheets and pillows ended.\u00a0 When I had it retouched, two weeks and a half later and with the Mexico City book presentation coming, the expert gave to me some sort of chocolate hair treatment that was supposed to act as a no-foam shampoo, the all time killer of fantasy hair colors. I used it.<\/p>\n

Then I came to LA to finish some details of the show. The horror was how I left the inmaculate towels of our hotel, for in spite of my religious use of a shower cap, the littlest amount of water was enough to cause the dye to run down my nape and for\u00a0 all the mess to start again. At the end of the short visit, I was expecting to be overcharged for the ruined towels but I was lucky. They charged nothing extra.<\/p>\n

What I can say for sure is that the look was a complete success. My collectors loved it, the Consulate authorities, the angelenos and it was a super hit among little girls and female custom officers.<\/p>\n

I have had it re-dyed twice in LA. Here they also use a helmet-like contraption that dries using heat. I think this has helped the color to last longer and come off less. A dye like this lasts three weeks, afterwards the hair begins to show an ugly blonde mixed with the root\u00b4s natural color.<\/p>\n

If someone had explained to me all that comes with having a fantasy color on the head I think I had never done it. NowI know I wouldn\u00b4t do it again. At least not in all my head.<\/p>\n

Going through all this strong changes with a purple mop on my head has been very symbolic. Now that things are calming down, I have left the purple fade little by little, I am sure that the return to a vibrant creative state will coincide with the return of my natural chestnut hair.<\/p>\n
